Idylwild Farms Day Camps are designed to promote confidence, coordination, and social interaction through a variety of activities. Emphasis is on horsemanship, riding, handling, and caring for horses. Children learn not only how to ride better, but also how to communicate and cooperate with the animals, and they become involved in the day to day care of the horses.

Regular camps are open to children ages 7 - 13. We also offer our "Tiny Trotters" summer camp, for ages 5-8. We are proud to say that many parents vote their confidence in us by returning their children to our camps year after year.

Our daycamps are designed for all levels of riders, from those who have never seen a horse up close, to the most experienced child equestrian. We offer English riding, teaching basic riding techniques, as well as Dressage and jumping to the more advanced camper.

Barn life has its own pace and charm. Children have the opportunity to get to know the sweet gentle personalities of the horses who live here, from the miniature ponies, to the thoroughbreds and big warmbloods. During summers, there're almost always a colt or two around too.

Our camp kids also get to know the goats, burros, and other pets who live around the barn. Though our barn animals are quiet and simple, they often have a profound affect on the kids, who have fond memories of their barn friends that they carry with them for the rest of their lives. The personalities of the animals often impact campers, helping them to carry a bit of the same calm joy into their own life during the rest of the year.

Campers make lots of new friends with other kids too, whom they look forward to seeing year after year.

Swim Fun!

Besides equestrian activeties Idylwild Farms' camps offer a huge variety of other fun pastimes. Campers have loads of fun playing team games like T-ball and volleyball, plus swimming, sack races, and other fun relays, and a variety of board and lawn games. They also learn to express themselves through arts, crafts, and creative projects. Plus they enjoy educational activities such as videos, guest speakers, martial arts training, and hands-on educational games.

Idylwild Farms is a safe and secure environment for kids. It's a place where they can just hang out, and just concentrate on having fun! The members of our camp staff are experienced in horsemanship as well as childhood education and development. We're used to working with children all through the year, in regular training and lessons. We are dedicated to the health, happiness, and well-being of the children. We maintain a low ratio of counselor to campers; usually there's a counselor for every 2-3 kids.
