Mary Ann Dowdall
has been a well-known presence in the West Coast Hunter Jumper world since at least the early 1980's.
She competed in the Pacific Coast Hunters Association, winning the PCHA Pony Equitation championship.
As a competing member of the California Professional Horse Association, which included a variety of disciplines,
Mary won the prestigious California State Championships in 1982.
Mary included her love and enthusiasm for horses in all aspects
of her life. In her academic training she earned a degree in Animal
Science from Cal Poly, which is recognized as having one of the
best equestrian programs in the nation.
After
her graduation, she used her acquired knowledge and skills in the
equestrian field as a professional trainer. And she has been a professional
trainer for over 15 years now. She is bringing her in-depth knowledge
of horses and the hunter discipline to a wide variety of students,
from young kids just getting into the sport, to advanced level competitors.
Her love for horses and her sport is infectious, her students, young
and adult alike, admire her very much, and she is highly regarded
throughout the region.
